UNDERGROUND CULTURAL HERITAGE AS A DRIVER FOR REGENERATION- Strengthening local and regional participation in EU programs
What is about?
This workshop is the outcome of two EU proposals (CUBRe and HURN), aiming at establishing, implementing and exploiting a platform to share best practices for a sustainable use of the underground heritage. A mix of speakers from academic and business world, with multidisciplinary competencies, will present successful experiences, promote balanced and sustainable approaches for the conservation of the underground heritage (anthropic caves, dismissed infrastructure, and human settlements), and realise the potential of underground space in urban areas for regeneration policies. They will propose new potential functions, seen as evolution of the historical ones - with a particular attention to their divulgation - maintaining a conservative approach of their historical value as part of the European Cultural Heritage. The workshop will have the role to reinforce the network and develop new EU proposals in Horizon 2020, INTERREG Europe, and COST programmes.
